\"HelenRaised in India and Europe, of British and French parents, Helen has traveled the world integrating careers in both photography and design.
\nThe cultural environment of her beginnings in India, and the influence of her parents\u2019 Far East and South Asian life experiences, set its mold on her psyche and laid the foundations for her passion for the rich art and culture of the primitive world. <\/p>\n

Her interest in ethnic cultures has regularly taken her to Africa and Central America in pursuit of photographic images, tribal hand-weavings and fresh inspiration for original designs featured in her textile collections for home environments.<\/p>\n

Helen was trained in the art of traditional French couture at the Paris school of fashion technology, which also spawned the careers of Yves St. Laurent and Christian Dior. Her training led her into a variety of careers in fashion in London, Paris, Barcelona, New York and Los Angeles, as a fashion designer, fashion coordinator and advertising stylist. These later culminated in a career in fashion photography in New York and Los Angeles, which she later abandoned for the pursuit of graphic fine art images celebrating the beauty of the natural world.<\/p>\n

Helen turned her interest in couture into the design of textile based home furnishings, first presenting her color-themed design collections at her home furnishings gallery, \u2018Nomad\u2019, in Los Angeles, then opening two more galleries on the Balearic island of Ibiza in Spain and more recently her d\u00e9cor gallery, Verandah, in Ojai, California.<\/p>\n

The exotic flavor of her textile collections and the establishment of her distinctive brand of color themed design, brought her commissions to furnish her designs for three exclusive holiday resorts in the Caribbean and along the Mexican Pacific Riviera, all of which have been featured in numerous international publications around the world.<\/p>\n

The rare double fold out cover of Architectural Digest magazine featured the luxurious private Mexican resort, Las Alamandas. It was followed by further editorials in France\u2019s Maisons Cote Sud, among numerous other French publications; Italy\u2019s \u2018AD\u2019, and Mexico\u2019s Casas y Gente, which also covered Helen\u2019s work at the Costa Careyes resort on the Mexican Riviera.<\/p><\/div>\n
